Managing and creating SharePoint content types
- [Instructor] Content types are one of the most powerful tools in SharePoint for ensuring consistency. They define the structure, metadata and behavior of content, making it easier to manage and use across sites. The content type gallery in the SharePoint admin center allows you to create and manage content types that can be reused throughout your organization. While the process for creating a content type is simple, the decisions you make during setup are key to ensuring that it works well for your organization. The first decision you'll make is choosing a category. Categories help organize content types into logical groups like HR, marketing, or legal. If your new content type is similar to others already in use, place it in the same category to keep things organized. If there's no existing category that fits, you can create a new one.
