- A referral leads to the easiest type of sale you will ever have. When a prospect comes to you via a referral, the hard work is done. The relationship has been started, the credibility has been established, and your prospect has been halfway sold by someone with more power to close the deal than you, your referrer. So how do you build a referral network? Before you can begin to build your referral network, you have to ensure you are doing an amazing job. That may sound silly because, of course, you're doing an amazing job, right? Well, you need to understand when you are asking for referrals, you are asking someone else to put their reputation on the line for you, and when you ask someone to do that, you need to be ready to deliver.
