(gentle music) - [Instructor] Because this course focuses primarily on selling your novel rather than writing it, I'm not going to go into too much detail about the writing process, but I do want to take some time to offer a few tips. Writing a novel is a complicated and oftentimes difficult process. It's a never-ending learning curve. At the time of creating this course, I have just finished writing my 14th novel and I'm still learning more with every manuscript I tackle. The best two pieces of advice I can give you is this: read and write. It sounds overly simple, I know, but it's the truth. Read everything in the genre you're trying to write in and dabble in some other genres, too, for more inspiration. Study the voice, the structure, the character arcs of your favorite books, try to figure out what makes them your favorite, and most important, and I can't stress this enough, read what's selling.
