- In the inventory tab of the item master, we saw there were warehouses. A warehouse is a location, real or imaginary, that contains inventory. So let's close everything up again, and let's go over to inventory and I'll go in the item master data, and let's look at the LM4029 printer again and head over to inventory data. And there's our warehouse codes, again down here. As you can expect, you could have physical warehouses. So this General and West Coast warehouse, for example are physical warehouses: buildings that contain inventory. Now, warehouses don't have to be stationary. If you have a series of trucks for onsite sales or repair, you might mark each truck as a warehouse to track the inventory allocated to it such as extra parts, or for example a potato chip truck which may have its inventory on the truck.
