Using the Split tool on toposolid - Revit Tutorial
From the course: Revit: Site and Context Modeling
Using the Split tool on toposolid
In the previous video, we created a toposolid from this CAD file that you see here on screen. And the first attempt gave us the result that I'm currently showing, where the edges were all a bit irregular, and it had done these kind of strange notches and cutouts along the sides of the file. It really wasn't the desired result. So the solution I proposed in that video is that we could go back into CAD, and we could add some additional line work. And that line work would be something like this, where the red lines are in this illustration. And then we could regenerate the topo from the CAD file, including those new red lines. And we would get a more acceptable result, such as this one that you see right here. Now that workflow is perfectly fine. But of course, one of the things that it requires is that you have access to AutoCAD so that you can add that additional line work and that you're willing to go into AutoCAD and do that extra work there as opposed to doing everything in Revit…
