Overview of worksharing and worksets in Revit
- Revit is a multidisciplinary BIM altering tool. At the center of BIM - Building Information Modeling is collaboration. Hence, Revit has a native feature that allows more than one person to work on the same model simultaneously. The collaborate tab in Revit features all the tools that make collaboration in Revit possible. The left panels on the collaborate tab is designed for an internal team of say one discipline to work on one model simultaneously. Whereas the right panels on this tab are designed for external teams to work on their respective Revit models, but cross linked them for coordination purposes. In this lesson, we will focus mostly on the collaboration tools and we will see how to break down a model into worksets. For this course, three sample files have been created: Architecture, MEP and Structure, to represent the various disciplines on a project.
