- [Instructor] In this video, I want to address a topic that often gets discussed when we talk about building information modeling. And that is: what is the appropriate level of detail in which we should model things? Now, there's no simple, definitive answer to this question that works in all situations. There's even some potential controversy surrounding this idea. And different folks will have different opinions on which things should be modeled and which things should simply be drawn or drafted in specific views. So my goal here isn't to definitively answer this question and tell you the absolute truth and what you should always do in every situation. Rather, I'd like to raise some of the issues, have a little discussion, and share with you some considerations that you might have, and also then potentially offer some possible solutions that you can use in your own projects.
