Creating footprint roofs
- [Instructor] In this video, we're going to create the basic roof elements that we need for our building, and we're going to use the Footprint Roof Tool for this purpose. Now I'm starting here in a high roof floor plan, which as you can see, does not show any of the building geometry. So I want to deal with that first. So what I'm going to do is there's a feature of floor plans that allows us to turn on an underlay to other levels. So scrolling down here on the properties palette, you're looking for the Underlay feature, and then you just simply choose one of the other levels. So I'm going to choose level two in this case. And when I apply that, you'll see the building geometry goes in in a half tone gray. So now we can use that underlying building geometry as the basis for building our roof, which will be really helpful. Okay, so the roof tool is here on the Architecture tab.
