Adding doors and windows

- [Instructor] In this video, we're going to continue with our two bedroom condominium unit, and we're going to place some doors and windows. Now I'm going to start with doors, and we can get there on the Architecture tab using the Door Tool, or you can use the keyboard shortcut of DR. If you're working in the imperial file, the default type will be a passage single flush door, 36 by 84. So we're going to go ahead and accept that. In the metric file, it will be 900 by 2,100 millimeters. Now the way that the door element works is, it is what we call a wall hosted object, which means that in order to place the door, you need to put your cursor on top of an eligible host wall, and you could see a message to that effect on the status bar at the bottom of the screen. So I'll just move my mouse over one of the walls in my plan and notice that Revit doesn't care which wall I select, as long as I am selecting a wall.
