Adding wall footings
The walls do need something to bear on. This is where bearing footings come in handy. Revit actually likes to call them wall footings which by looking at the button makes you kind of think you're actually adding in a wall but that's not the case. You're adding a strip footing that is hosted to a foundation wall. Either way, let's jump into Revit under models, open, browse your exercise files in chapter 3 we'll grab structural 3-2 open it up now under structural plans let's scroll down to top of footing on the structure tab under foundations let's click the wall foundation button right here strip footing now this thing's a little too big so we're gonna duplicate this so click edit type bearing footing 36 by 12 let's duplicate that I want that to actually be two foot six by 12 inches and get rid of the number 2. Click OK. For the width type in 2 space 6 and hit enter. We'll keep the foundation thickness at one foot. Click apply. Click okay now notice all we can do is select multiple…
