Apply the resilient practice of vulnerability

- Many people are surprised that vulnerability is the first practice of highly resilient people. There's a myth that people believe, maybe even you believe, that resilience is about being hard, strong, unmoved by difficulty, but in fact, the opposite is true. People who demonstrate vulnerability are able to face change, uncertainty, and disruption with humility, empathy, and authenticity. Vulnerability is very different than many of us think. So let's start with the definition to get all of us on the same page. Vulnerability is allowing our inside self, our thoughts, feelings, and emotions to, as closely as possible, match the outside self that we share with the world. The extent to which our inside self matches our outside self is called congruence. The greater our congruence, the greater our capacity for vulnerability.
