Your turn: Build, deploy, and share your own app - Replit Tutorial

My mom once went to an oil painting class and she spent weeks working on the same painting because when you work in oils, you can keep repainting the painting forever. Then one day, the teacher took her painting away and said, you are done. You need to start working on something new. I'm telling you this story because now that you know how to build your own apps with Repl.it, you need to stay focused on the purpose of those apps because when you build apps, it's It's very easy to constantly try to improve them, try to expand their functionality, try to make them into something better. But unless you are deliberately building apps as products that you're going to ship, that is a waste of time. Once you build an app that does the thing that you set out to do, and it does it well enough that it's saving you time or achieving your goal, you're done. You can move on to the next app and build a new app that does something else. This is a crucial insight I want you to bring with you as you start building your own apps, because the true power of AI generating apps for you isn't to build new fantastic products that you're gonna ship to the world and everyone is gonna love, it's to build small software packages that solve your problems for you in the moment. At least that's what I think, and that's how I use these tools. Now, before I let you go, there's a lot more to Repl.it than I've had time to show you in this course. And the best place to start exploring what else is there, apart from just clicking around in the interface and opening things to see what they are, is to go to the documentation pages. Repl.it is a huge application with lots of functionality. And the documentation provides you detailed information about all the different features and how to use them. And crucially, it provides examples of how to hook into the different features. And you saw me briefly use the documentation when we integrated AI and Google Drive. There are other things you can do with Repl.it as well that are very easily understandable once you start looking at the documentation. So as you start working, if you run into something you want to do and you can't figure out how, that's the place to start. Now it's your turn.
