- Working with HDRI maps gives quick and clean results without a lot of fussing about. Positioning, intensities, and color is all much easier to control by using these HDRI tools. HDRI maps are applied to the dome light and redshift, but there are also a few other uses for this dome light tool as well. Let's go ahead and jump in and try to light this scene using an HDRI. So I have my bridge scene pulled up again, and all I need to do in order to add an HDRI to this is to come down to my light options, click and hold, and then grab a dome light. And you'll notice right away that our scene brightens up because we actually have this dome light lighting the scene, we're getting some shadows, but it's just plain and kind of boring right now.
