- Sourcing is the most fun aspect of the recruiting funnel for me. I really enjoy analyzing the job description, determining the hiring manager's needs, and then identifying potential candidates. The possibilities are endless, but that is also what makes it challenging. The world is a vast place and the internet has only made it bigger. Identifying great candidates who may perform well in the role can sometimes seem like an impossible task when you have so many options. So where do you search? A great place to look is in untapped pools of talent. Depending upon the industry and the function, those talent pools will shift. When you work in an agency or for a parent company or are a generalist, it is going to take more time for you to build up concentrated talent pools that you can fish in because you are searching both wide and deep.
