Create a safe space for feedback

If a colleague told you they were scared to tell their boss something, what would you advise them to do? In this lesson, I'll share the four-step process that has helped my clients when they've had that question exactly. It'll allow you to create safe spaces for yourself and others when they need to share difficult feedback. The process I hope you can employ with EASE. It's an acronym for Expect, Align, Set, and Explain. Your leadership can't afford certain mistakes, but you can use EASE to recover and realign expectations around feedback. Step one is to expect feedback. How the team is set up for giving and receiving feedback requires awareness and an understanding of what mistakes are acceptable. Your team needs to feel safe to ask questions to leaders who know the business well and know where to place milestones and check-ins.
