Hyper-converged storage with Ceph
- [Instructor] One very useful feature of Proxmox VE is that it includes local support for running a Cephcluster out of the box. While we usually don't want to add on other responsibilities for our PVE nodes, running a Ceph cluster on them makes a lot of sense if we have the hardware for it. And in addition to virtualization and software-defined networking, Ceph brings the last pillar of hyper-converged infrastructure software defined storage to our lab. Let's take a look at configuring Ceph in our cluster to provide resilient distributed file and block storage for guest disc images and other content types. Ceph relies on a variety of services to provide resilient storage and monitor and manage the status of that storage. And if something happens to one of our nodes, our shared Ceph storage will continue working and will recover automatically when its missing node comes back online.
