Backups
- [Instructor] It's a good idea to have backups of information we want to save just in case something goes wrong. Proxmox VE provides a way for us to create backups of VMs and containers and to restore them should we need to. Backups are compressed disc images, and we can restore an existing VM or container using its backup, or we can create new VMs or containers using a backup file. It's useful to take backups of VMs occasionally, especially if they're not systems that have independent backup strategies for the data they contain. To create a backup of a guest, I'll click on a guest, and then find the backup section. Here we can see previous backups of the guest if there are any. Because we can designate various storage items as being able to contain the backup content type, we can switch between storage items here with this dropdown menu.
