Next, you will have a solid understanding of foundational Prometheus concepts, such as metrics, labeling, and vector matching, in a level of detail that makes working with Prometheus very easy. And finally, you will have a sample alerting setup for your production systems. This will give you a great foundation for monitoring your systems using the four golden signals. It is very important to understand Prometheus, because it is valuable for troubleshooting, reliability, and scaling your systems. The need for monitoring has expanded beyond traditional systems administrators. With the broader landscape and more complex systems, software product engineers, DevOps engineers, and system administrators alike are tasked with monitoring and using tools like Prometheus. So how can you follow along? The code repository is on GitHub. Your repository has branches for each of the videos in the course, so you can follow along easily. Next, you need a basic knowledge of software development. We will use Go language in this course, but you can follow along regardless of your knowledge level. And finally, you need a basic knowledge of Docker and Docker Compose. If you need to get more familiar with any of these topics, you can check out the LinkedIn Learning Library. You don't need any subscriptions to follow along with this course. With all these tools, you are ready to improve your Prometheus skills.
