- Projects can save lives, improve lives, or change the world's landscape. Some of the most fascinating technological achievements have been, in essence, brilliant projects. The construction of the pyramids in Egypt. The creation of modern cities. The Apollo Space Program. The development of the COVID-19 vaccine. All of these were the results of ideas turned into reality through projects. Over the years, I found that the word project is extensively used, yet largely misunderstood. There is confusion about what a project is and isn't. When you look up definitions of a project, you'll notice that they are quite technical, wordy and hard to understand. As projects drive more and more of the value that organizations create, it's essential that everyone, from coders to project managers to executives, understands what projects are.
