Building the scoping document
- Now it's time to put all of this knowledge into the actual scoping document. We've identified the parts, but here are a few extra sections. The scoping document should start off with the name of the project, the official name that the client will recognize. You need the executive summary, so people who are evaluating the project or may need to interact with it from a functional management point of view can see it. This way the accounting department knows what the project's about. The executive manager knows what people are working on. Put in any background information that's going to be helpful to other people. You don't need everything in here, but key information about why the project is being undertaken. Why is this being done? Why are we making a new website? Why did we decide to produce this video? Put in the project scope at a high level. You don't need to list every single task or deliverable, but…
