- How do you decide what to improve? With the speed of business and life, it seems that everything could use an improvement lens. However, time is limited. If you try to focus on everything, you inevitably focus on nothing. In this lesson, you'll see how to use a framework for prioritizing projects that align with your organization's strategic business objectives. I've created an exercise file to help you through this process. Let's get started. First, create your laundry list of initiatives. Get everything out there, every idea, project, and potential improvement. It's essential to have a complete list of all that's possible so that nothing is overlooked. Next, let's score each initiative. We'll use three attributes to evaluate and prioritize these efforts: alignment with the company's strategic goals, potential return on investment, or ROI, and the risk of not taking on the effort.
