(mellow techno music) - There's a lot of debate going on these days about the downsides of technology. Our phones are addictive, social media has made us less connected, we're less focused because of all of these digital distractions. Our kids have shorter attention spans because of television and video games. No matter which side of the debate you fall on, I think we can all agree that technology does have its upsides, even if those come with a few downsides. In my opinion, it's all about figuring out the ways to use the tech that's available to us, to maximize the ways it helps us, while at the same time limiting the ways it harms us. Essentially, it's all about learning how to hack our devices, whether those are tablets, phones, or computers, so that we're getting the most use out of them when it comes to being productive writers, but also so we're not letting them steal our productivity and focus away.
