Pitch your product idea to the customer
- At the heart of your customer meeting, you want to pitch your idea. You're in the room with a customer to find out if you are on the right track or if you need to make changes. Let me give you some tips to help make that time valuable and actionable for you and your team. How you pitch your product is based on the product type. This could be a mockup of an app, a prototype of a device, or a description of a process or idea. Now, this could be an entirely new product or it could be improvements on an existing one, but there is one key thing to remember about this stage. Don't answer their questions. Seems kind of weird, but here's an example. Let's say you're building a new smartphone, a customer might ask, "How much storage will be on the phone?" If you just answer them, the customer might not give any reaction to the answer. If they do, you have led them with your answers, so they might tell you something completely different than you originally thought. The better way to respond…
