- A genre that I do a lot of is screencasting. That's because I'm pretty good with software and I like to share tips and techniques with folks. Well, screencasting has come a long way. When I first started screencasting, it involved all sorts of expensive equipment. We had to run the computer signal into a capture device or even record to tape and we used all sorts of expensive gear to convert that signal.
