From the course: Problem Identification and Solution Design for Data Scientists

Welcome

- So you've just been assigned to a new predictive analytics project. That's great. What are you going to work on first? Many data scientists turn first to some available data and immediately try to build a model. On the other hand, what I've observed over the years is that you could examine the request critically and interview the project sponsor to make sure that you fully understand the problem that you've been assigned. And this course is dedicated to learning how to do that effectively. I'm Keith McCormick, and I've been building predictive analytics models for nearly 30 years. No phase of a project is more important than the very beginning. Your success or failure is often determined at this stage. Now we have a lot to cover, so let's get started.
