- In a scheduled business meeting, you can be confident in getting to present with little or no interruption, but when you're facing the C-suite, it's an entirely different ball game. You may only have seconds to talk before being interrupted, and they won't be pitching you any softball questions. You don't want to strike out. There's no room for one single slip. I'm here to tell you the four most common mistakes I've seen rookie presenters make when facing the major leagues. Never tell the C-suite to wait. During a young professional's presentation, I cringed when I heard him assertively instruct the first executive who interrupted him with a question, "I'll get to that in just a bit." Be prepared to be continually interrupted. You must respond immediately. As stressful as it is, never let them see you sweat. Avoid a linear game plan.
