How to learn basic data skills for data analytics
- Now, it's time to learn basic data concepts. These, along with math, will be the most important for your data career because they're tool-agnostic and will be used in any kind of role in industry. To learn basic data concepts, I recommend first learning about data types, dealing with NULL values, and identifying outliers in anomalies. It may also be helpful to learn about data dictionaries. A data dictionary is a document or Excel sheet that outlines and defines a dataset by stating all relevant information about each column or variable, like the data type, allowed values, and definition. Being able to read and understand a data dictionary will give you a solid understanding of a dataset, and it'll help you understand different kinds of data types and recognize outliers and anomalies.
