- [Instructor] Congratulations. You made it to the other side. Technically, you're done, but there is one more task to complete. The followup. To be honest, a great manager will do this for you. The really good ones naturally stay in touch and keep the conversation moving, but you know that you are your best advocate. So your best bet is always to be proactive. However, the followup period actually begins with mandatory downtime. You just spent a good bit of time on several occasions preparing for your evaluation. You survived, and now you need to step away, at least for a few days. For the first 48 hours, don't think about it and don't talk about it. You want to let the stress wash away by focusing on other issues in your life. To be frank, most evaluations involve you receiving some information that you didn't see coming, or did not like, or did not completely agree with. That triggers emotions. It's natural.
