- [Narrator] Testing website accessibility is essential for making sure that our websites meet accessibility standards. Ideally though, we want to be truly accessible, not just meet accessibility standards. This means factoring in the needs of actual disabled customers and ensuring that they're centered in your process. This is the most expensive way to ensure accessibility, and I'm aware of that fact. Depending on your organization's accessibility maturity, you may just be unable to do this. However, for those of you that can, here are some tips. We want to design with disabled people. Hire people to test your websites that actually understand accessibility because of their needs. An example is Make it Fable, they offer a range of services to truly validate your website experience. It's really hard to fake disability. The first time I watched a blind person using screen reading software, I was a little bit shocked.…
