Making text legible
- [Instructor] We previously looked at readability. Legibility is an important aspect of readability. So we are going to explore what it is and how we can make our website content legible. While readability is about making sense of whole words and sentences in context, legibility is the ease with which a person can distinguish between the individual characters or symbols on a page. I say individual characters or symbols to mean anything that makes up the words within sentences or elements of information that you're trying to share. This could mean letters of the alphabet, numbers, icons, et cetera. What have I told you that you were looking at an I and an L? Would you believe me? Being unable to distinguish between those two letters means that my text is currently illegible. If that were part of a word or a sentence, you might not be able to make sense of it.
