Working with placeholders
- [Instructor] When you open a PowerPoint document, you see boxes with dotted outlines that offer you a prompt, such as Click to add title or Click icon to add picture. These are called placeholders. Some allow you to insert several types of content, such as text, a chart or an image, while others allow only one type. The main difference between a regular object like a text box, shape or image, and an object inside of a placeholder is that the placeholder can be reset. If one gets nudged out of place, it can be repositioned by reapplying the layout. Go to the Home tab and click on Layouts. Choose the layout that is already selected and the placeholder goes back into position. Use the reset button to clear out any formatting and wipe out any unwanted changes.
