- [Instructor] Up until now, we have been working exclusively with Power BI Service, which is browser-based Software as a Service. This is Power BI Desktop, and it is a different creature, a freestanding application of its own that you download and install on your Windows PC. Power BI Desktop has some of the same functionality that we already know how to use with the Power BI Service. For example, we can create a report here as we can in the Power BI Service. This is our Report canvas. It has Filters, Visualizations, Data. This should look very familiar, but hey, what is this ribbon across the top with things that we haven't seen and haven't worked with before?
