Using quick measures formulas
- [Instructor] If we specify the type of calculation we want to do and the fields we want to use, Power BI can create our DAX measures for us using the built-in quick measure options. In our existing Power BI desktop model, let's add a measure to our existing calculations measure group to determine the average population change from 2017 to 2022 across the entire US. In my version of Power BI Desktop, this opens a quick measure configuration pane where we'll choose the Calculations tab. There's a menu dropdown list with the available calculations. We'll choose the total for category with the filters not applied. We'll talk later about how the measure with the filters applied differs slightly from this calculation. For the base value, we'll use the population percentage change between 2017 and 2022. For the categories, we'll use the State field from the State table.
