Examining key performance indicators (KPIs)
- [Instructor] KPIs, or key performance indicators, help us easily analyze and compare metrics against goal metrics such as forecasted numbers or previous numbers within a segment. Let's say we're working with high level aggregated data for actual and budget numbers within a company. We see what those numbers look like in an existing table visual. This is in millions, so in the most recent year, we see the actuals were 14 million while the budget was 12 million. If this was sales or profit, this means that we're making more than we predicted we would make in our budget. There are numerous KPI visual options and Power BI, including custom and standard visuals that we can leverage depending on the type of data and analysis we're performing.
