Today as internet connection speeds have increased, our image sizes have increased even faster. Therefore, web developers are still concerned about image sizes and their impact on how fast a given page will load. If you download a photo straight off your camera or your phone and place it directly online, chances are the file size is quite large. For example, images from my phone are typically four to five megabytes in size. 25 years ago, we used to think an image that was 40 or 50k in size was quite large. To reduce your image file sizes, there are several aspects about your images to consider. First, are your images in the right file format?
