- [Narrator] Authentication is the process of validating a user's identity before providing access to an application or system. For hybrid environment, authentication usually involves access to both on-premise and cloud environment. When an organization is planning to extend their directory in the cloud, they need to ensure user can sign in to both cloud and on-premise environment with one identity and password. Cloud-based system sometimes can raise additional security concerns, simply due to the fact that data is now outside the internal network of the organization. Therefore the security may feel somewhat out of control. And also, the organization needs to maintain network connectivity to access the data.
