- Have you heard of the seven second eye test? If not, allow me to introduce it to you. An eye tracking study conducted by Ladders, the self-proclaimed home of $100,000 plus careers, found that the average recruiter spends only 7.4 seconds reviewing a job candidate's resume. So what exactly does this mean? Well, it doesn't matter if it's your online resume or social media profiles. You have very little time to get recruiters' attention, make a good first impression and hold it long enough to get them hooked. But if you can, you'll drive interest, and interest leads to opportunities. The study went on to find that online resumes that drove the most interest had several things in common.
