- Have you heard the expression, it's not what you know but who you know? Or as I like to say, it's not who you know, but who knows you. Take me, for example. I probably interact with a couple of hundred of people or more a month. However, I'm directly connected to tens of thousands of people and even more indirectly from people taking my courses, attending my speaking events and reading my posts. Many of these people I've never met but they know me, which is why it's important to get the word out when you're ready to pivot because you never know who may be following you and willing to offer a helping hand. One or more of your loose connections could point you in the direction of a quality job lead. This is especially important since you're pivoting into a new profession, one where someone will need to take a chance on you. And being referred or recommended can go a long way.
