- Never let them see you sweat, this is one of the quotes I heard when I first entered the workforce, and it always intrigued me. You see, I took this to mean act like you're confident and competent even if you're not. In other words, fake it till you make it. While downplaying your weaknesses and emphasizing your strengths makes sense, pretending like you're something you're not sounds like a recipe for stress. If you're pivoting into project management, why would you want to do this? Instead, show some vulnerability, it makes you look more human. By acknowledging that you don't know everything, but you have transferable skills and are willing to learn new ones, you actually show potential employers that you're not arrogant or over confident.
