Using the Dodge and Burn modes

- [Instructor] In this movie, I'll show you some practical uses for the various dodge and burn modes. Now it's relatively easy to find uses for linear dodge and linear burn. Both of which are more extreme effects than screen and multiply and infuse a little bit of color into things, as well. And so let's say that I'm looking at this reflected moon and it strikes me that it's kind of drab compared to the colors in the moon up here in the sky. In that case, I would select this bottom moon layer. And then I would change the blend mode from Screen not to Color Dodge, that's going to look pretty ridiculous but rather to Linear Dodge right here. And if at this point, the effect seems a little over the top, then you can swap the opacity and fill values. So I'll go ahead and press the Escape key to unstick that blend mode here on the PC and then I'll tap the 0 key in order to crank the opacity value up to 100%. Assuming that is that…
