The Brush tool blend modes

- [Instructor] In this movie, we'll take a look at the remaining keyboard shortcuts of P, Q and R, which have no effect on the active layer but can be quite useful when working with the Brush tool. And so I'll go ahead and switch to the Brush tool which I can get by pressing the B key, and then notice this list of blend modes up here in the options bar. In addition to the 27 modes that we've seen so far we also have Behind and Clear, each of which I will demonstrate in this movie, but for now I'll just go ahead and press the escape key a couple of times in order to hide that menu. And I'll switch to the Multiply mode by pressing shift alt M or shift option M on the Mac. So notice that my foreground color is red and I'm working on a bars layer, which contains these blue bars. But if I turn off the background layer you can see that that layer is otherwise empty. And so if I paint on this layer, I end up darkening any of those…
