- [Instructor] We're going to take a few moments and look at all the different options that Free Transform has to offer. This document has two layers, the background and then a photograph of the kitchen and I want to put the kitchen into the mirror. In order to transform non-destructively I'm going to convert this kitchen layer into a smart object. I can right click and then choose Convert to smart object from the Context Sensitive menus. Now I can make as many transforms as possible and I'll never lose any image quality. From the edit menu, I'll choose Free Transform or I could use the keyboard shortcut command-T on Mac or control + T on Windows. When I drag one of the corner points in order to scale it Photoshop will automatically constrain the proportions by default, but we can unlink them.
