- In the previous video, we discussed how we can use Metasploit for running passive and active information gathering scans. Now we are going to discuss how we can import already run scans to our Metasploit console. In order for us to import our already run vulnerability or Nmap scans directly to our Metasploit console, we'll be using the "db_import" command. Now, the DB import command accepts input in the XML format. So, we can easily use the file that we exported in the previous scan. As you can see, we exported scan1.xml in our previous example and now we are importing the same in Metasploit using the DB import command. Why importing is necessary? Because this stores the output of scan1.xml in the Metasploit database, which we can use for further investigations and while preparing our reports as well.
