Creating a cultural framework
- New companies have the luxury of establishing their culture from scratch. That's a huge benefit since we know culture sets the tone for everything. However, what usually happens? Founders are scrambling to refine a new product, to find employees and initial customers, to develop a logo and a website. The concept of molding a compelling company culture often doesn't make the priority list and that's a problem. The culture will grow on its own for better or worse and unfortunately many startups lose the opportunities to set the tone for how the early team interacts, what kind of initial hires are made and how customers are treated. They essentially forfeit the ability to manage their culture and make it a competitive advantage.
