In this lesson, we will take a look at the Oracle Base Database service on virtual machine database systems or on the Oracle Cloud Infrastructure. We will highlight some of the features of this service. The Oracle Base Database service provides the ability to deploy full-feature Oracle Databases in the cloud. It's available in the Oracle Cloud Infrastructure regions around the world. The Oracle Base Database service allows you to run and manage workloads in a single instance or in a two-node RAC virtual machine database systems. With a two-node RAC, a real application cluster, you have higher availability. For example, if one node becomes unavailable, the surviving will take over, and the database will continue to run while you recover the former node.
