- [Instructor] Do you want a world-class organization? Of course. We all do. Which brings us to the five main points of TPM. First off, when you think of TPM, you think of innovation. TPM is an innovative approach to maintenance that optimizes equipment effectiveness through a continuous improvement of product and service processes. We want to optimize equipment effectiveness, or OEE, through continuous improvement of product and service processes. OEE is an effective measure of TPM implementation, where we focus on the availability, quality, and performance of machines. So, how many of you have ever had problems with the ice machine in your refrigerator? It's really hard for the ice to come out, or it gets chunky, or it clogs and makes that loud rumbling sound. I have that problem daily, but my neighbor recently showed me her new ice machine, and I thought, "Oh, wow."
