Learning by doing while you job search

So now that you're taking a skills-first approach to your job search, the question becomes, how do you build skills while you're searching? Because the job search can honestly feel like a waiting game. Waiting for interviews, waiting for offers. The hack? Use that waiting time as an opportunity to do the work. That might mean starting a newsletter to showcase your writing skills, taking online courses is to build your technical skills. These signal one thing to employers. You're a self-starter. You're not waiting for opportunity to come your way. You're building it yourself. They'll also help you create some structure around your job search so it's not taking over your entire day. And they give you something to talk about in interviews. So ask yourself, what's the work you could be doing right now? What's the work you could be doing right now?
