Make a great first impression
Meeting someone new can be an uncomfortable and stressful experience for introverts. Add on the fact that it's someone at work and you need to make a great impression and the pressure is on. Here are three ways to connect with your coworkers and leave a positive impression. Introduce yourself with a video when you join a new team or company. Share more about what you'll be working on, your favorite hobbies outside of the office, and whatever else you want them to know about you, including the fact that you are an introvert. This way your team will already know a little bit about you, and it'll be easier to break the ice when you do meet them. Make eye contact and smile. Sounds basic, but it's easy to forget when we're nervous. Looking down or away can make us look disinterested. And lastly, open with a question or fact they won't expect. Share an interesting anecdote about your life. Ask them about what they're watching or ask them about upcoming plans.
