- How to get someone to respond when they're not replying to your emails. If you've been following up with someone repeatedly and not hearing anything back, here are two steps to encourage a response. Step one, express understanding or eagerness. "I've sent a few reminders and haven't heard back. I'm eager to move forward with this and your feedback is crucial." Or, "I've attempted to follow up a couple of times with limited success." Step two, ask for action or information. "Is there someone else I should be contacting for a quicker resolution?" "Can you please help me know when I can expect a response?" Or, "What's the best way for us to communicate and ensure we stay on track?"
