Clarifying sub-goals

- A lot of people make this mistake when it comes to goals. They know their big picture goal, but they haven't spent the time to list everything they need to do to achieve that goal. These are called your sub-ordinate goals. You want to think about both specific tasks that you need to accomplish. But that's not all. You also want to list the specific behaviors that you need to stop, start, continue, or change to help you take steps towards that big picture super-ordinate goal that's aligned with your vision. The more specific you can be, the better. We know from research that when you're clear on both the big picture and the subordinate goals, you'll apply more effort to achieve your goals and be more likely to see them through.
